Ocean Grove Main Beach
Just minutes from town, Ocean Grove Main Beach is a go-to for all levels. Patrolled by lifesavers during peak times and offering gentle, rolling waves, it's ideal for learners, families, and longboarders. Surf schools operate here year-round, and the wide beach makes for an easy paddle out even on busier mornings.
Raffs Beach
Located just north of the main surf zone, Raffs Beach has a more relaxed vibe and often smaller crowds. It’s great for longboarders and cruisy beach breaks when the swell direction aligns. A local favourite for post-surf strolls and quieter sessions.
13th Beach (Barwon Heads)
A short drive from Ocean Grove, 13th Beach is a stretch of consistent surf breaks with a reputation for punchier waves and a more advanced crowd. It's popular with shortboarders and ideal when Ocean Grove is a little too mellow. Make sure to check conditions and be aware of rips—this beach isn't always patrolled.
Point Impossible & Bells Beach
If you're chasing a bigger challenge or just want to soak up the culture of Victoria’s surf coast, head west. Point Impossible offers a mellow reef break, perfect on a bigger swell, while world-famous Bells Beach (about 40 minutes from Ocean Grove) delivers long, powerful rides that are bucket list-worthy for experienced surfers.
